クリスマスの深夜に恒例となっているフジテレビ系バラエティ特番『明石家サンタの史上最大のクリスマスプレゼントショー』が、今年は放送見送りとなることが25日、明らかになった。24日深夜は『さんまのお笑い向上委員会』のスペシャルが生放送される。 明石家さんま クリスマスにひとり寂しくしている視聴者が、明石家さんまふんする“明石家サンタ”からの生電話で「今年起きた不幸話」を披露して合格すれば、豪華プレゼントが当たる同番組。1990年にスタートしてから、別の時期に放送されることがあっても、休むことなく続いてきた。 しかし、プレゼントは番組スポンサーなどから提供されているもので、さんまは今年3月、いわゆる「フジテレビ問題」で同局からスポンサーが相次ぎ撤退する状況を受け、自身のラジオ番組『MBSヤングタウン土曜日』(MBSラジオ)で、『明石家サンタ』の放送見送りの可能性に言及していた。 例年11月上旬には「不幸話」のハガキ募集を開始していたが、今年は行われていなかった。 今年は『明石家サンタ』の放送がないが、近年“予選会”が開催されていたレギュラー番組『さんまのお笑い向上委員会』のスペシャル版『さんまのお笑い向上委員会 クリスマス生放送SP』を、24日(24:25～26:25)に放送。今年の委員会に“クレーム”を持つゲストが参戦する生放送を展開する。出演はさんまのほか、飯尾和樹(ずん)、陣内智則、藤本敏史(FUJIWARA)、堀内健、吉村崇(平成ノブシコブシ)、井口浩之(ウエストランド)、マヂカルラブリー、レインボーなど。
