Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is undeniably one of the greatest of all time to have stepped foot in the squared circle. Although The Rock isn’t an active wrestler today, he is still heroized by WWE and the fans. And the fact that The Rock hasn’t hung his boots up yet only goes to show that he still has the desire to keep the fire for wrestling burning. But despite carving out a legendary career, The Rock is not in WWE’s Hall of Fame yet.
WWE’s Hall of Fame commemorates the legendary careers of the greatest wrestlers from across the globe. Generally, a wrestler is inducted into the Hall of Fame after he or she has retired. However, this year, Rey Mysterio was the main inductee in the Hall of Fame class of 2023.
As we all know, Mysterio is still an active wrestler. So why hasn’t WWE inducted The Rock into the Hall of Fame yet?

Considering that The Rock’s counterpart, Stone Cold Steve Austin, was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009, The Rock should have made it to the revered list of celebrated legends.
While he was rumored to be the major inductee in 2015, he seemingly resisted his call-up because he believes there’s a lot more to contribute to WWE.
During an interview with Digital Spy, The Rock revealed why he is not yet inducted into the Hall of Fame.
“That would be great, sure, but I would have to speak to Vince [McMahon] first. I’m not quite too sure if… am I allowed to be inducted in and still come back to wrestle? I don’t know. We’ll see!”
The Rock’s conspicuous reluctance to take up the honor this year indicates that he still will work a few more matches in the future. Nevertheless, Dwayne John is a guaranteed future WWE Hall of Famer. The 10-time World Champion was rumored to face his cousin Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39.
However, the dream match did not materialize. But their match is definitely worth the wait. With each passing year, wrestling fans spitball The Rock’s potential return. We will have to wait and see if The Brahma Bull graces the WWE Universe with his presence at WrestleMania 40.
When was The Rock’s last WrestleMania match?
Since The Rock is semi-retired, he has made several appearances on major events like WrestleMania and Royal Rumble. However, the 50-year-old last competed in 2016 at WrestleMania 32. The wrestling legend was involved in an impromptu match against Wyatt Family’s Erick Rowan. But The match only lasted six seconds.
After the Rock Bottom and the pin, The Great One soaked in the adulation from the WWE Universe. It’s worth noting that The Rock’s last appearance in WWE was in 2019. Johnson made his return to SmackDown to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
