Donatella Versace has been on hand to provide Dua Lipa – and her super stylist Lorenzo Posocco – with a plethora of striking looks during her stratospheric rise to fame. And now, Donatella has cemented Dua’s status as a “Versace girl” by casting her as the face of the brand’s autumn/winter 2021 campaign.
For the series of photographs, lensed by Mert and Marcus, Dua adopted a fresh red hairdo and fringe. The shade is not dissimilar from the hue that Gigi dyed her locks for the AW21 Versace show in early March. In the first of three shots posted on her grid, Dua sports a fuzzy coat, a silky bandana – debuted by Gigi and Bella Hadid on the runway – and a bag adorned with the house’s brand new La Greca monogram.
Dua appears alongside herself five times in the second, hyper-realistic picture dressed in look 34: a head-to-toe cherry-red outfit originally worn by model Mica Argañaraz. The final image shows Dua in a belted sunshine-yellow dress and a bandana, with a bright red Medusa bag in her grasp. “This day will be one I’ll never forget!!!” she mused in the caption. Posocco shared the latter shot to his own feed and wrote: “Waiting for this moment since 2015,” alongside the hashtag #proudmama.
