Al Nassr superstar Cristiano Ronaldo recently received an appointment letter from the court to resolve his salary debt dispute with his former club Juventus.
In mid-September, Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that superstar Cristiano Ronaldo had filed a lawsuit against his former club Juventus because of the salary they had not yet paid him even though they broke up in 2021.
Accordingly, CR7 is one of the players with whom Juventus agreed and pledged to pay salaries slowly to help the club financially stabilize during the pandemic. However, until now, the Bianconeri have not yet paid Ronaldo the salary of more than 19 million Euros owed, forcing him to take legal action.
After receiving the lawsuit and evidence provided by Ronaldo, the Turin Prosecutor’s Office recently issued the first verdict on the case. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a hearing has been scheduled for October 4, requiring the presence of both the player and the club.
Here, the council will interrogate and collect more information from both the complainant and the defendant. From there, make a decision on possible next steps with the dispute between Ronaldo and Juventus.
Because Al Nassr is scheduled to compete in the group stage of the Asian Cup on October 3 against Istiklol Club, it is expected that Ronaldo will not directly participate in this trial. Instead, he will authorize his lawyer to be present at the hearing on October 4.
According to Sport Mediaset, Ronaldo’s side is determined to go to the end in the legal battle with Juventus to reclaim CR7’s rights. Previously, the Old Lady was also sued by a former official, Paulo Dybala, for unpaid wages and had to pay 3 million Euros to this player.
