According to a recent report, actor Emma Stone was in talks to play Sue Storm in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Fantastic Four film, but turned it down.
Rumors and unconfirmed reports regarding casting for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s upcoming Fantastic Four film are abundant. The latest suggests the studio approached actor Emma Stone to play Sue Storm, but she turned it down.
Scooper Jeff Sneider appeared on The Hot Mic Podcast, discussing what he had heard about the Fantastic Four project. He claimed the film would place the Invisible Woman front and center and reported that Stone had been in negotiations to play the character. “For 72 hours, Emma Stone was looking like Sue Storm.” Stone asked for a salary of $20 million, which Marvel Studios was reportedly unwilling to pay.
The report Sneider referenced regarding Sue Storm’s central role in the film came from pundit Justin Kroll, who previously claimed that the Invisible Woman would be the focus, at least when it comes to casting. Since then, a number of rumors have continued to circulate, suggesting actors including Margot Robbie and, earlier on, Free Guy star Jodie Comer.
Casting the Rest of the Fantastic Four
There have been no confirmed reports regarding other members of the titular superhero family either. Actor Adam Driver has been linked to Reed Richards and Mila Kunis has been rumored to be involved as the Thing– a rumor Kunis herself debunked, adding that while she herself will not appear in the film, she knows who will. It should be noted that none of these have yet been officially confirmed by Marvel Studios or any other official source.
