HUGH Jackman beamed while raising a glass in Brazil, after doctors successfully removed cancerous skin from his nose last week.
The Logan actor, 48, went under the knife for the SIXTH time after a check up revealed the cancer had returned to his nose
Jackman posted a video to Instagram from Brazil, where he delivered a message in Portuguese.
He said: “Obrigado São Paulo, obrigado Brasil, feliz carnaval! Saúde!” which translates to: “Thank you São Paulo, thank you Brazil. Happy Carnival! Health!”.
The actor is in Brazil for the premiere of his new Logan movie, a film which carries on the Wolverine legacy, albeit with a more serious, adult tone than previous outings.
Lucky for him it’s also carnival time, which means parties in the streets and wild, hedonistic behaviour for the next fortnight.
Jackman recently underwent surgery to remove basal cell carcinoma from his nose, for the sixth time in the last two years.
In a selfie posted to his Instagram just after his operation, he wrote: “Another basal cell carcinoma. Thanks to frequent body checks and amazing doctors, all is well. Looks worse with the dressing on than off. I swear! #wearsunscreen.”
Last week at the launch of Logan at the Berlin Film Festival, he told reporters: “It is fine, it is all done, all fixed, all out. Thank you for asking.”
After growing up in Australia, and recklessly going without sunscreen much of the time, Jackman has been very vocal in his attempts to warn fans of the dangers of unprotected sun exposure.

Basal cell carcinoma is also referred to as a BCC, is the single most common form of skin cancer, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation, with approximately three million cases diagnosed in the USA each year.
It is widely believed to be caused by overexposure to UV light from the sun or sun beds.
Jackman first had the cancer removed in 2013 after his wife Deborra-Lee Furness urged to get a mole checked it out.
He wrote at the time: “Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy, was she right! I had a basil cell carcinoma. Please don’t be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And USE sunscreen!!!”

Ever since he has repeatedly urged followers to get themselves checked regularly and to use protective creams.
Hugh himself makes sure he spends time at the doctor’s getting himself checked out every few months.
In 2015 he revealed to People Magazine that he does it every three months. He said: “I go every three months for check-ups. It’s the new normal for me. My doctor says I’ll likely have more, and if that’s your cross to bear in life, you should be so lucky.
