Virat Kohli is a great cricketer, a great boyfriend, and an all-round good guy… but you probably knew that (also because we may have told you so). You may probably also know that he owns a pretty impressive fleet of cars for a 28-year-old self-made guy. And the good folks of Audi decided it might be a good idea to add another car to that fleet. So they gifted Virat Kohli a brand new Audi Q7 45 TDI.
This isn’t the first Audi to enter Virat’s fleet of cars, the 28-year-old owns an R8 LMX and an R8 V10 Plus. Both of which fall squarely under the not-so-practical supercar category. That’s a hit at parties, sure, but not a perfect fit when it comes to carrying cricketing equipment. Virat has previously admitted to driving a large-SUV during his pre-ODI days, so it’s no surprise that he went with an all-rounder like the Q7. The new Audi Q7, is 325 kg lighter than its predecessor, thanks to extensive use of aluminum. It comes with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel which produces a whopping 600nm of torque. It also comes with seven seats and 295 litres of boot space so pretty much entire team’s cricketing equipment can be loaded with the third row folded.
The Indian cricket captain, seen wearing a retro white Audi Quattro jacket – reminiscent of Audi’s rallying glory days from the ’80s – was handed the keys to his ‘Carrera White’ Q7 by Rahil Ansari, Head of Audi India, looking pretty chuffed to see their brand ambassador flying the four-ringed flag yet again. The Q7 currently retails at Rs 91.4 lakh (on road, Delhi).
