Hugh Jackman, Fan Bing Bing and Peter Dinklage at the X-Men: Days of Future Past press conference
While I sat out of the X-Men blue carpet even last evening, I was fortunate enough to be in the audience (and sitting) at the X-Men: Days of Future Past press conference earlier today.
Hugh Jackman at the X-Men: Days of Future Past press conference
I have to say that I love Hugh Jackman even more now. (I AM SO JEALOUS OF HIS WIFE!!) He is absolutely bloody BRILLIANT! In the press conference, he effortlessly demonstrates why he is such the megastar that he is with his witty responses.

As they were sitting down to start with the press conference, Hugh Jackman was already starting to sit but he stopped and went over to help seat Fan Bing Bing down… EXACTLY LIKE A SCENE IN MY FAVOURITE HUGH JACKMAN MOVIE, “KATE & LEOPOLD”. In that few seconds, I died a few times inside. WHAT A GENTLEMAN!!!!

That said, Peter Dinklage is a really good wing man with his witty one-liners playing along with Hugh Jackman’s humourous response. Haha.
This X-Men: Days of Future Past press conference has got to be the most enjoyable press conferences I’ve ever been to (not that I have been to that many of them). I was laughing for most if not all of the entire 15-20 minutes of the press conference.
I didn’t video this entire press conference as I didn’t have enough hands but believe me, I so regret not recording it all down. It was so EPIC!
It all started when Utt asked the cast to kick things off by giving an introduction of their characters.
** Note: all quotes are not word for word but the essence of what was said.
Hugh Jackman’s said something like, “If you could tell my 2 kids that my character is very important, it would be great. They didn’t seem to get the memo.” LOL!!!
Then someone asked something about Channing Tatum being confirmed to play Gambit and then Hugh Jackman was like, “Hhhmmm, Channing Tatum, I’ve heard of that guy.” Then Peter Dinklage said, “He’s a dancer.” Hugh: “Yeah. Right. I know him.” LOL!!!
And then a Vietnamese reporter asked something (I didn’t catch the question) and then Hugh Jackman immediately responded by saying something along the lines, “Vietnamese mutants! I like the idea! Channing Tatum can play that character!” Bwhahahahahaha!!!!
When someone asked about THAT naked scene in the movie and if Hugh Jackman did extra lunges that day or something, Peter Dinklage chipped in saying, “I was the body double.” I was so close to tears laughing. I’m serious. It’s so funny!!
With that, Hugh Jackman then shared about how he clearly remembers the date of filming as May 21 (2013). He was saying how he was working hard with physical and mental preparations to be naked for the scene and when the director/producers(?) said something about possibly having to move the scenes, Hugh Jackman was adamant, “On May 21, I don’t care what scene you do, I’m getting naked. We can have a scene at the White House or wherever, I don’t care. I will do it naked… and that is the only day I will take my clothes off.”
I cannot. Hahahahhahahahahhaha!!!!!
Hugh Jackman then laughs and said that it was a year ago and it’s all gone now. Bless that man.
I would say that it was the most epic when Joshua from Hot FM 91.3 asked if Hugh Jackman could answer the question as Logan/Wolverine.
X-Men: Days of Future Past press conference
Pretty quickly “Logan” got angry, stood up and walked out of the room and motioned for Joshua to follow him. LOL. Joshua’s confused reaction was pretty epic as well. Hahaha.
When Hugh Jackman came back in with Joshua, Hugh Jackman as “Logan” had Joshua’s head locked with his arm. It was brilliant!
After the press conference, I was catching up with Utt and then Utt spotted Joshua and called him over. We quizzed Joshua about what happened outside and Joshua said that Hugh Jackman was in character as “Logan/Wolverine” the ENTIRE TIME.
We even asked if Joshua managed to get a selfie with Hugh Jackman outside but unfortunately, “Logan” was too focused on re-doing Joshua’s hair and the selfie didn’t happen. LOL.
To be honest, all of us were really surprised and a little confused by Hugh Jackman’s improv and we all agreed that it the Joshua/Logan exchange was the highlight of the entire press conference.
If you are wondering why I didn’t mention anything about Fan Bing Bing, she didn’t really get to say anything apart from introducing her character. Everyone just wanted a piece of Hugh Jackman. 🙂
