Last week Hugh Jackman was named ‘Favourite Action Star’ by influential Vogue Editor Anna Wintour.
So, it’s no wonder the Australian actor is making sure he stays in shape.
The Wolverine star appeared to be throwing a weighted ball on the concrete sidewalk outside a West Village gym in Manhattan on Saturday, showing off his buff bulging biceps.
The 45-year-old actor’s hair appeared to be growing back after it had been shaved off for his recent role as pirate Blackbeard in the upcoming movie Pan.
His characteristic mustache and beard for the role have also gone, and the star simply sported some weekend stubble while working out.
Despite being in New York, Hugh wore his 98 Riley St Gym muscle top, which was a subtle nod to the celebrity favourite workout space in Sydney.
Hugh teamed his tee with loose-fitting, knee-length grey shorts and black trainers with white ankle socks.

Taking a break at one point, the Australian-born hunk sipped a green drink from a small plastic bottle.
The veins in his arms were also noticeably throbbing after the hard core workout, and the muscle man was sporting some bruises on his upper arms and lower legs.
The actor, who stars alongside Amanda Seyfried, Rooney Mara and Cara Delevingne in Pan, wrapped filming on the children’s flick at the end of August in the UK.

At this stage the Peter Pan inspired reboot is slated for a July 2015 release.
It’s believed Hugh’s now working hard to beef up again for his return to the role of Wolverine, in X-Men: Apocalypse.
The next installment in the popular series, which made Hugh a household name, is currently in pre-production and has been shrouded in secrecy, so it’s not known what’s in store for Wolverine and his fellow mutants.
